More About RXT Sabre
The RXT Sabre product family is based on an RXT SabreDrive, which matches the size of a standard tape drive that handles LTO or other half-inch tape. An RXT SabreDrive writes to portable media—SabreMedia —composed of multiple Serial ATA (SATA) disks sealed in an enclosure that tolerates rugged handling. RXT SabreMedia media is further protected by additional shock dampening technology incorporated into the media’s sealed enclosure.
Unlike tape, however, RXT SabreMedia is not limited to one media capacity per drive generation, as tape technologies are. RXT Sabre can accommodate multiple SabreMedia types (Gold, Silver, and Green), with differing capacities and RAID. Depending on the pack you are using, you may also use it across multiple RXT Sabre devices—from RXT SabreDrive D150 to RXT SabreDrive D350 to RXT SabreDrive D150 for the Spectra T950 library.
